Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business and Client Strategy | Sports, the Director of Business and Client Strategy | Sports will play a crucial role in expanding the company's presence in global markets. This position is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of experiences and services, as well as fostering new relationships within the sports industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong connections within North American sports leagues and a deep understanding of the global sports landscape. As a key member of the global business development team, this individual will focus on securing new partnerships and business opportunities to meet or exceed projected profit goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Research and present client target lists.
  • Develop and maintain active sales strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain client relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Develop new business relationships and opportunities with Legacy IPs.
  • Manage CRM/database of client contacts.
  • Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations, including in-person pitches
  • Oversee the creative development of proposals, including proposal art support.
  • Develop budgets and manage account budgets.
  • Ensure accurate recording of detailed communications, pipeline, and financial forecasts for targeted opportunities.
  • Submit detailed contract requests to legal and liaise with accounting on all project billing needs.
  • Provide feedback on all contracts to legal and liaise with accounting on all project billing needs.
  • Collaborate with RWS business development, RWS Global Sports, and cross-company team members and contractors.
  • Work with operational and creative teams to develop dynamic proposals and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Hire and manage workflow and deliverables for RWS associates and interns as needed.
  • Create and implement market segment growth plans.
  • Strategize future business growth and development, showing increased ROI year-overyear.
  • Develop an international vendor and contractor database.
  • Ideate market campaigns with the team as needed.
  • Prepare and submit monthly sales reports.
  • Forecast annual budgets and manage expense-related accounts.
  • Manage expense report management.
  • Travel nationally and internationally as needed to advance account acquisition.
  • Represent RWS at industry networking events, tradeshows, and on-site client meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with international audiences of diverse cultures and languages.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in business development within the sports industry.
  • Established network of qualified industry clients.
  • Strategic thinker with leadership experience.
  • Proven proficiency in developing and presenting proposals.
  • Experience working with high-profile clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mac software, CRM databases, Slack, and Wrike.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple proposals and job duties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess ROI and measure success.
  • Proactive, energetic, and highly organized with a self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, deadline-driven environment.
