What’s expected…
  • Actively participate in the setup of all wardrobe equipment, dressing rooms and costumes pertaining to the wardrobe department and other equipment assigned to the department during the instillation period in Medora, North Dakota.
  • Responsible for repairing and maintaining all costumes related to the Wardrobe Department as directed by supervisors.
  • Responsible for shows laundry needs.
  • Will attend any rehearsals or put ins as needed for new performers.
  • Assist in the choreography of quick changes as well as helping with changes during the runs of shows.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of show related paperwork, i.e. tracking sheets, dressing sheets, laundry check in/out sheets, performer repair request sheets, as needed
  • Weekly check in’s with Wardrobe manager.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
What you bring…
  • Related experience, or combination of training and/or education in Wardrobe as it relates to live performances.
  • Basic understanding of theatrical terms and directions.
  • Ability to understand instructions in oral, written and diagram form to apply common sense to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Recognized as a proven team player with creative problem solving and strong trouble shooting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of sewing machines, their uses and different applications.
  • Ability to hand sew.
  • Understanding of fabrics and specific laundry and dry-cleaning needs of each specific fabric type.
Contract Details…
  • Rate
    • $1,300 per week during rehearsal period
    • $1,200 per week during operations period
  • Housing and 3 meals are provided 
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs, stand for 2 hours and operate small hand tools.

Medora Musical - The Medora Musical is an outdoors family-oriented country show, with a slightly different thematic every year. The 61st edition of “The Greatest Show in the West” commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States by honoring Medora’s history alongside the dreamers, builders, innovators, and protectors who shaped both the town and the nation, weaving local stories into the broader tapestry of American heritage.

About the Shows:
Medora Musical:
The Musical takes place in the Burning Hills Amphitheater 6-7 shows a week with 1 dark day.

Scope:
  • Cast of 12: 6-7 Full Looks Each
  • 4 Singers, 2m/ 2f
  • 4 Dancers 2m/ 2f
  • 4 Singer/Dancers 2m/ 2f
  • 2 hosts: Two Full Looks Each 
  • Band of 6: Two Full Looks Each   
  • 2 costume characters          
Responsibilities: Daily laundry and prep including ironing and steaming, and repairs. Set up and closing of the production at the beginning/end of the season. Assisting performers with changes throughout the show including preparing for the show and post-show clean up. 
 
Gospel Brunch:
Gospel Brunch takes place in the Town Square Showhall and its performed 4 times a week, by the some of the same cast members of the Musical. Responsibilities: Weekly laundry and prep including ironing and steaming, and repairs. Check-in in with the Stage Manager or cast in case something is needed before laundry day. Set up and closing of the production at the beginning/end of the season.

Kids show:
This is a new offering for the client and details on the show are still in the works.
  • Show length 30-35 min
  • 3-4 performers 1 look each.
  • 2 costume characters.

Responsibilities: Weekly laundry and prep including ironing and steaming, and repairs. Check-in in with the Stage Manager or cast in case something is needed before laundry day. Set up and closing of the production at the beginning/end of the season.
 
Position Details:
  • Rate:
    • $1,300 per week during rehearsal period
    • $1,200 per week during operations period
  • Duration: 19 weeks (exact start date is TBD, likely mid-May, continuing until the first week of September)
  • Drivers license required.
  • We will provide travel,
  • Housing: Might share a cabin with another and production/ tech person.
  • 3 daily meals included.
  • Additional Notes:
    • There will be onsite help to assist with wardrobe changes and laundry. This might vary per week.
    • Final dates are still being confirmed.
